This Website Privacy Policy describes how The Global Artichoke protects and makes use of the information you give us when you use our website. The policy is reviewed regularly. If you would like your details removed from our system at any time, please contact us. Any questions about this policy should be directed to The Global Artichoke.

What Data we Gather

We may collect the following information:

  • Contact details (such as email address and telephone number)

How we use it

Collecting this data helps The Global Artichoke to understand what you are looking for from the website, and how we can improve our service.

Specifically, we may use the data:

  • For our own internal records

  • To improve the services we provide

  • To add personal details to a mailing list (The Global Artichoke uses Flodesk, an online service to which names & email addresses are uploaded)

  • To contact an individual in response to a specific enquiry

  • To send an email about The Global Artichoke that we think may be of interest to you.

Controlling information about you

When an individual provides their details to The Global Artichoke at an event, workshop or via the website (by subscribing to our newsletter mailing list), they have opted in to receive further details about our workshops, offers and general news from The Global Artichoke. If this is the case, and that individual decides they no longer want to be on The Global Artichoke’s mailing list they can be unsubscribed or removed easily by:

  • Clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of all The Global Artichoke emailed mailings.

The Global Artichoke will never distribute or sell personal information to third parties unless the owner’s consent has been given or it is required by law.

Any personal information held by The Global Artichoke is stored and processed under the company’s Data Protection Policy.

Terms & Conditions

You will initially receive an automated email from our order system to confirm your booking. You will then receive a course confirmation email which will contain all the information that you will need before attending the course – details of the course, directions, and we can sometimes provide twin bed accommodation at Church Farm. The course confirmation email will be sent to you within 2 weeks of placing your booking. Please note that our courses and events are ticketless and you do not need to bring a ticket with you on the day.

It is possible to cancel a course booking. You will be entitled to an exchange if you have given more than four weeks notice (a £25 admin fee is payable for this). You can transfer onto an alternative course date, paying any additional sum if the chosen course is higher in price. If you cancel with less than four weeks notice we are unable to offer you a transfer at all, or provide a refund. We can however change the name on the booking so that a friend or family member can go in your place.

The Global Artichoke may cancel any course or event due to illness or very low numbers, and you will then have the option of a transfer to another course of the same value, or a full refund of your payment.

A course or event place purchased as a gift carries the same cancellation policy. 


If cancellation takes place with more than 8 weeks to go a full refund (minus admin costs) will be administered between 4- 8 weeks, we can issue a voucher for the course amount which you can transfer to another course at a later date.Less than 4 weeks, no refund can be issued as we may not have time to sell the place. You are welcome to let anyone else take your place, just please let us know their name.
